Family founded
Spotting a heron has always been a big deal in our house. When one sails across the Neck River, it's a moment. We grab the binoculars, crouch into position and watch this majestic creature wade in the water, wet her beak, and survey the scene. The Sound Life was born from moments like these.
Locally inspired
Life on Long Island Sound is filled with drama and beauty. For our family, it's picnicking under magical sunsets at Surf Club, hiking the Ice-Age boulders at Hammonasset, and kayaking the Sound in the early morning stillness. It's a balance of nature and fun, relaxation and recreation that we see others experiencing, too.

We believe in paying attention to the beauty around us. Our logo, the heron, reminds us to look up, stay present, and see the wonder. We sell simple, high-quality goods for people who value the simple pleasures.
